Hi everyone,

First I want to thanks all the stackideas team for their amazing work! Seriously, you don't find any other company taking care of their customers like they do!

Which bring me to question, how they do it?

What I actually want to talk about is, how can we help them continue to develop great extensions and help us with all our little issues and customizations?

I'm using all of their extensions on my site, and if I think about if, it really doesn't cost me much for what I get! Now I got to a point where I need some custom development (because some feature aren't plan or at least not before a long time), but unfortunately, I can't afford it

But what I can afford, is to pay twice (or more) the price of of my current subscriptions

So another questions is, Should the Steackideas team start selling specific features as add-on so they can hire more developers, and develop more features, faster but still with their perfect support?

They already have their app store, and all apps from Stackideas are ,of course, FREE!
Shouldn't Stackideas, for example, decide what are the core feature of Easysocial and start offering other one for a fee. (Example: Pages...)

I could keep going but I guess I already made my point!
Hi Aikigi,

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. It feels good to know that we still have awesome supporter such as you. There are others who is just like you, supporting us through thick and thin, and I assure you that we are keeping a close eye on you all. Perhaps, the Marketing team can concoct some sort of a reward for your loyalties (will discuss with Mark about this )

About the customization, we do wish we can offer some sort of a customization service but from the looks of it, our developers are pretty tied down with the development tasks (two major release will be coming shortly!) so I guess any heavy customization would have to wait for us to even consider it. I would also like to stress out that customization is not part of the support policy and thus agreeing to it is something which comes from the good deeds of the developers.

As for the pricings for our add-ons, I remember discussing about this with Mark waaaaay back when I first joined Stack Ideas. Mark, being the good Samaritan he is, just wanted to give more to the community. That is why he didn't put any price on most of the add-ons. There are times when we were hit very hard, but we didn't even consider of putting pricetags on our add-ons.

We do welcome any suggestions that you guys might have, so if you have any ideas/suggestions on the pricing or anything at all, feel free to pen it down here.

Thank you again for your kind words!

Hi Ahmad,

It is always difficult to figure out the best approach to stay affordable and deliver the best product. We all wish everything would be cheap, the best and done fast! But it is just not possible and at one point, a decision must be made.

Technology is moving fast and so the internet! I personally think that you are giving much more than needed for free but that it would be a mistake to raise the base price of you components. So here my guess:

Taking Easysocial as an example, you should offer a basic version with the fundamental feature. I'm sure some user don't need more than that. Then offer advanced package for those who need it. That way you don't get a component with more than what you need (I don't like having a bunch of feature I don't need, which make the site bigger to) , and it is fair that if you want all the features (that take a lot of time and talent to create) than you have to pay a little more.

That way, you guys can hire more developers, stay up to speed with the fast growing technology, offer all the features your customers are dreaming of, without having your brains overheating!!!

Anyway, I hope I'm not the only one that feel you are giving a lot and would rather paying more to get some some feature I want faster...

Hello Aikigi,

Thanks for the heads up on this and I am really astonished to see awesome and understanding customers like yourself! Unfortunately not everyone are on the same wavelength as you. We did a survey quite a while ago and many are expecting that when they have an active subscription, all their requested features MUST or is REQUIRED to be added by us. If we are going to charge them additional charges for features like videos or pages, they wouldn't be too happy over this.

Like you said, nothing is free in this world and we are also struggling to ensure that we provide the best support we can and all of these services costs money. We are going to come up with several new marketing strategies this year and of course we are trying our very best to get EasyBlog 5 out as soon as we can.

EasySocial 1.4 is long overdue simply because EasyBlog 5 is a showstopper for us. We need to get it done and get it done right! If we do not get this done right for EasyBlog 5, all our hardwork and effort will be put to a waste
