In EasySocial 1.4 when you uploaded photos, the image titles were blank by default. This made a lot of sense due to it being easy to add appropriate image titles. In ES 2.0 images uploaded auto populated with the album name plus date. There are several issues with this:

  • It's harder to add a real image title due to having to delete all the text for each image
  • It gives users a false vibe of the image titles not needing to be filled out
  • Images wouldn't perform as well SEO wise due to all the images having the same title (except for the diligent one's)
  • Mediocre image titles make it more difficult to find/search specific image names through out the site

Finding specific content matters, fortunately there is an alternative. If image titles were visibly blank by default but auto populated the album name on album save if blank, this would encourage those who care about titles to fill out the titles while still giving a mediocre title to those who never planned on filling out the titles. This simple addition would be a win win for both audiences.
Thanks for your suggestion on this, will move this into our feature requests section.
