Hi,

Just wondering, when easyblog will work to avoid downloading the installer everytime there is an update.
It was very useful, or why not add the update to joomla checking procedure, like this we get in touch directly in the dashboard.

Thanks in advance for this.
Hello Greg,

Thanks for the suggestion on the joomla checking procedure. As for the updater issue, it is only for who want to update from 3.8 or older to 3.9. For those who are already in 3.9, there should be no problem in updating their Easyblog using the updater. Do you face any problem with the updater? If so, you can provide us your backend and FTP access so we can check this out for you.

Hello Greg,

We cannot debug your updater since it is already on the latest version. We need to wait for the release of the next version.

Hello Greg,

I have run the updater but surprisingly with no error, and the log file reports of a successful patch. Your issue probably occurs when the server is temporally down or bad internet connection. Sorry for you inconveniences.

Hello Ioic and Greg,

Thanks for your update here. Yes we do actually test this everytime we upload a new EasyBlog. Though I admit there has been issues in the past. Also for now please make sure you are upgrading from version 3,9 and above. Version 3.8 and below need reinstallation. Also please give us a timeframe of about 1 to 2 hours after release to ready the patch server

Thanks!

Hello loic,

Can you please provide us with the Joomla back end access as well as the FTP access so that I can check on the issues on your site?
I could try and install the older version and try to upgrade to the latest version to try and replicate your issue, do you have any hacks on easyblog, please advice?

Thanks:)

You are right, it is working perfectly for me.

Have you tried changing location/different internet connection. Might be something is blocking the connection to our sever when updating.

Thanks

hello,

i have changed location and computer and it doesn't work

the log link in not working neither, so maybe it's more a conflict with a plugin or something in my joomla backend ???
does it could be a javascript conflict ?

Hello loic berder,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I believe that is not conflict with a plugin or something in your Joomla backend, because my colleague also run the Easyblog updater in your Joomla backend.
If you try run the updater for next release of Easyblog, try open Google chrome + click F12 or mouse right click > Inspect element > click console > then click the "Update" button from Easyblog Updater and see is it got pop-up some error message. If yes, please provide a screenshot to us so we can know that error message.

It seems like i can't reproduce on your issues, because when i click that update button then it update successfully.
See my video : http://screencast.com/t/pu8y6VFTeR
Before that i thought when i click that update button then i will hit the same result with you, but it will not, so i record the video to prove it.
