Hello

When a user leaves a group, all his posts in the group are deleted. I don't know if this happens in all circumstances, but that's what happen on my site, where you can test the following scenario:

1- Join a group (my groups are open)
2- Post a status, photo or poll in the group
3- Leave the group, and the previously created post is gone!

Thanks

Hello,

That is a default behaviour when user leaves the group or deleted from the group. This is because they are no longer the member of the group and their post shouldn't be there.

Well, I think this is really not a good idea!
Imagine a user leaves a group temporary or by mistake, which is very easy to do. All his posts are lost! And even if that's really what he intended to do, his polls, photos etc. in the group will be lost for other group members!

To be honest, I can't imagine that's what your customers want. That's not how Facebook groups work either.

I consider this as a major issue.

Hello,

I'm sorry but we do have a confirmation box every time a user wants to leave a group: http://screencast.com/t/fDJlRLzjmeg . The other situation I can think of, let say the user has posted an image, a lot of images, if he decided to leave the group, he might want to remove all his images as well. But, if you really want to change the behaviour, please replace the attached file in: ../administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/group/group.php

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your answer and the file. But as you know, if I modify ES code on my site it will make it harder to update...

I keep on thinking that deleting the user's posts makes no sense (in most cases). Can you please discuss this internally and see if including this code change in ES is possible?

Sounds like a sensible discussion to be had. I would see a case for preserving the history too... the user has contributed to the group (presumably) perhaps with valuable content.. so I'd support keeping it intact by default... but would expect the user (and super-admin of course) still to have power to view and delete their posts. Maybe on leaving a group the user could be asked whether they want their posts to remain or be removed.
