Using JomSocial 3.1 and your latest EasyBlog 3.9.

What would cause the ALBUM INTEGRATIONS not to pick up the tags in the blog post?

Under INTEGRATIONS / JOMSOCIAL I do have Album Integrations enabled.

Screenshots of both the settings and result.

Thanks
Hello Craig Luecke,

Could you mind provide us with a temporary access to your Joomla backend (as admin) and an FTP access so we can check that issue and see where the problem is coming from? Please advise.

It appears to be related to photo albums within groups. If the photo album is within a personal profile everything is fine and you can embed the photo gallery.

There was recently a change to the code on how albums appear in a stream as opposed to a single photo upload. Could this have affect your code to display?

Additionally, I noticed that as I go through the MEDIA MANAGER and click on the individual My Albums, many of them are showing no photos within the folder which there are. Only the folders that will display thumbnails in the Browse Media Manager will work within a blog post.

The albums that are not showing any thumbnails are the albums within a JomSocial Group.

Hope this narrows it down for you.

Any resolution on this? I noticed you guys posted photos on my website testing. Not sure why you chose to use young girls as your sample photos on a professional website as ours.

Hello Craig Luecke,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
Yes, I'm still investigate in your issues here. Correct me if i getting wrong meaning of your previous post,

Regarding with your JomSocial albums not to show up in blog post :
>> When i uploaded the photo from JomSocial, the album also will go through in the Easyblog Media Manager, see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/fSR7zzeJ0

Regarding with your album integration not to pick up the tags in the blog post :
>> Do you mean that when you tag people in the photo from JomSocial, then it not pick up the tag into bog post right?

Regarding with your embed code issues :
>> I have tried to access in this blog post page ( http://fairfaxfirefighters.org/blogs/the-watch/entry/firefighters-distribute-toys-and-coats-to-local-children ), it seems like you already deleted this blog post, could you mind elaborate this issues with more details?

THIS IS NOT RESOLVED

Apparently you are not reading my posts in this thread or looking at the screenshots.

Easyblog DOES NOT show albums from groups even though the albums are showing up in the Easy Blog Media Manager. The albums only work from within your own profile photos which is what you did.

PLEASE look at the screen shot. I have highlighted an album in MY ALBUMS that comes from a GROUP. I click on the album and even though there are photos in the album, your Media Manager does not recognize them and thus they do not embed in your blogs.

Hello Craig Luecke,

I'm really sorry that late reply of this,
Thanks for reporting on this, actually the JomSocial album integration option only can integrate with Jomsocial user personal album, and we haven't have this group album integration feature and integrate with the photo people tag show in Easyblog yet, we will consider with this feature. Sorry for make you inconvenience to this,

So basically what you are saying is that you are advertising a feature to lure JomSocial people in and then you tell us that it is half baked. And because JomSocial is your competition you will only 'consider' this feature (translated to it will never happen because it only makes JomSocial better).

This is a BUG and not something to consider. Your own Media Manager is picking up all of the titles of the photo albums but is having an issue integrating the photos. Look at my screenshot.

If this 'feature' aka bug was not related to JomSocial you would fix it.

Hello Craig,

First and foremost, I do apologize of the oversight by my colleague earlier here. Indeed, this is actually a bug, group albums should never be displayed in the media manager because of the way the privacy of the groups are stored in JomSocial. We will address this in the next release of EasyBlog so that group albums does not show up in the media manager.

Please don't get us wrong, we are open to competition and we do not have the group albums integrated with EasyBlog's media manager simply because we do not want to overwhelm ourselves with massive updates every time JomSocial releases a new version. The API for the albums / groups has changed in every major version of JomSocial and we just don't want ourselves to get caught in this viscous cycle.

Hello Craig,

Okay, I dug through the codes and the problem is because of the API that we use from JomSocial. Their get user albums model isn't really getting the user's photo albums but it also retrieves the group albums.

To fix this, I had to modify our codes to not use their API. To fix this on your site, download the attached file and upload it into /components/com_easyblog/classes/mediamanager/ and overwrite the jomsocial.php file.
