Hey guys,

We would love to get feedback from you about themes and templates that you would like to see for EasySocial. Let us know your thoughts!

It would be cool if you could let us know the nature of your site so that we can understand more about what sort of themes we are looking at
about themes and templates that you would like to see for EasySocial

In fact this is one of the main problems in my opinion. I would prefer having the same theme for all extensions, not just for EasySocial. Though there are some kind of similarities, a lot of things differ from each other like lots of buttons that are different for extensions.

To be honest the wires are totally outdated and I think you should stick with the material design from Google for a much more modern look. I would strongly suggest getting a real designer for this kind of stuff. I think the difference between a pro and a developer are the missing 5% at the moment. It is totally obvious that you do not have a pro designer in your team. It looks clean but not lovely at the moment.

Just some example if you take a look at the mouseover effects. Nowadays default is having a 0.3s transition instead of a simple color change by mouseover. While writing this post I saw this on the "post your reply" button below the text area. Same goes for "upload files" button.

Another thing are the icons that do not fit to each other. Example from this support forum is when you look for the icon you got on the "your time" and "stack ideas time" and compare it with the ones on the menu on top for "recent" and "my tickets". No need to start talking about smileys at this point...

Please, whatever you do related to themes, make it lovely. Another example of not being lovely is when you look on top of a post. the box above the topic title is some few pixel wider than all boxes below. When you look at the bottom of the page, the email subscription box suddenly got no border though everything on the site got borders. So many things just on one site, my apologizes but you asked for opinions and this was mine. I know I am extremely in love with details.

Interesting idea, but doesn't Chrome or Safari allows you to pull to refresh already?

Completely agreed and this is why we are going to be focusing on templates instead. One of the biggest problem that 99% of web companies took when Twitter Bootstrap was initiated, was to blindly use it. I do think that eventually Material UI is going to end up like Twitter Bootstrap.

It only looks good for now only because you don't see it too often. As more sites start to go with Material UI, you'll start to realize that you will be stuck in this viscous cycle relying on this kind of framework.

Heh, I know! And this was actually done on purpose and to be honest, we achieved our goals because nobody ever complained about "how to navigate" on our forums anymore.

Noted, and this is what we are going to be emphasizing next in our upcoming templates

For improvements, you will find my detailed suggestions at this link :
https://stackideas.com/forums/mobile-web-template-4

I find the Mobile Web Template very great, but you must go further !
The smartphone is much more used than the desktop today, so the Mobile Web Template should be your priority.

I really like what JoomForest does with JF Mobile Bar. The animation effects are very impressive. It gives the illusion of using a native mobile application.
I am sure that Stackideas could also surprise us and propose a mobile user experience very interesting...
