What is the "parent theme" and "parent css" referring to?

This setting is inside some of the themes? What does it refer to? How can I pick a parent theme? Why should I want to as then themes would commingle?

Yes, it will inherit from the default theme, if you are thinking of customizing your themes I hope this link will help you.

Hello Mirjana,

That basically means that it will inherit the theme files and theme's css files.
