The notes app allows users to write notes. That's all It can be accessed via the dashboard on the sidebar.

I am sorry for the confusion here. The notes application need to be accessed via dashboard page instead of profile page in order for that button to appear. Please give it a try.

Anyway that users can create notes form their profile?

The Profile page is usually for viewing information about the user especially from other users' viewpoint. People that want to view user profile will see this page. It is more for display than control.

The Dashboard can only be accessed by a specific user and allows more editing options.

The reason why the Notes is limited to the Dashboard is to prevent unauthorized user from gaining access to the Notes from the Profile page.

I hope this clear the confusion.
