Seems like we do not have specific documentation on this yet.
Basically this Question & Answer feature is a feature where you can see in our forum here, where user/admin can set reply as answer and mark the post as resolved.

I believe that is it. Disabling the feature will also prevent certain things from displaying like the resolved/unresolved labels and filters.
