Just a quick question from someone still learning all this Joomla jargon. I was trying to figure out a way to allow a certain number of people to register on our ES site to start testing it, but then shut down registrations while it remains viewable by the public. Is that what Lockdown mode is for? And if so, what is the purpose of the option to allow registrations in lockdown mode? Doesn't that defeat the purpose, or why exactly is that option available?

Of course, if lockdown mode doesn't allow for the purpose we are looking for, what other option might there be to do so?
Hi Tony Martinez,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. Let make it clear to you what is the Enable lockdown mode and Allow registration lockdown mode:

Enable lockdown mode - By enabling lockdown mode, only users with an account will be allowed to access the system.

Allow registrations in lockdown mode - When this option is enabled, users will still be able to access the registration area.

Yes, I saw that, but I just wanted to make sure I understand it works as I think it does. Here's what I want to do...I want to allow fans to join our community, but I will Enable Lockdown Mode to prevent any additional registrations. The people who already registered prior to Lockdown will still be able to log in normally, correct?

Also, just so I understand its purpose, in what example would "Allow registrations in lockdown mode" be used? It seems to defeat the purpose of a lockdown, doesn't it?

Hi Tony Martinez,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. Kindly please find my response to your inquiries below:
1. I want to allow fans to join our community, but I will Enable Lockdown Mode to prevent any additional registrations. The people who already registered prior to Lockdown will still be able to log in normally, correct?

->You are right. The user who already registered as the Lockdown mode is enabled, they still can login without any problem

2. just so I understand its purpose, in what example would "Allow registrations in lockdown mode" be used? It seems to defeat the purpose of a lockdown, doesn't it?

->The purpose of this feature is, as there have any visitor want to join the community, they have the option to register a new account. Without any login credentials, they cannot access the system.
