Ok I realise this may be a dumb question, but I'm not sure I understand what a Story is in EasySocial. Users have an option to control how others can view their Story but I have no idea what that means! I looked on the front end user profile page and dashboard and nothing there refers to a story, nor are there any filters or apps that mention it.

I'm sure it's really obvious, but I have no idea and would like to know before a user asks me what it means!
Thanks for the heads up on this Neel. I guess different user perceives the message differently We'll see what we can do about this.

Hello Andrew,

Story is basically user updates or items that you see on the stream when someone posts a new update

Ok so the story = the news feed stream then in very simple terms? If so would it therefore make sense if I used a language overide to have the setting show as

News feed Control how other users can view your items in the news feed
.

That makes it easier to understand I think for my users as long as there isn't some subtle difference I'm missing! Thanks

Hello Andrew,

Yep, that's correct. Perhaps we should actually just rename it to Newfeed rather than Story

Well I have done that now on my site It made sense to me as on the dashboard it shows "News Feed" at the top and the word "story" doesn't seem to appear any where on the front end other than in the setting for it.

In my mind I refer to story as 'wall' or 'timeline'.
