I saw a few recent post replies from Mark earlier in December in regards to the status of Pages and Groups, but I can't find it. But from what I remember, Mark said something to the effect that their initial plans for Pages with Groups was very complex, and more than they could do initially, and that they weren't certain it would be easy enough of a UI for users. Then I think he said, they scaled things back to focus on Groups for v1.2 release. When I track down that post I'll add it below. I do know that v1.2 release will be some time mid January. Yes it slipped a bit, but considering the pace of development and other schedule items it is to be expected around XMAS that things could get delayed.

I bet that what gets released with V1.2 in January will blow people away. I think we are going to see Groups implemented in a UI fashion like we have never seen before. Can't wait. The excitement of this release is building daily.

Thanks for all the support / constructive feedback. This is really helpful and it really motivates the team and myself However, I do think that we shouldn't "speculate" anything right now until the time is right for us to release some teaser shots for the groups. All I can say is that, what I have saw from the designer's sketch / design it is absolutely amazing and it's going to have the best group functionality ever and it's really engaging too

Thanks for sharing this Randall! By the way, our initial goal was to develop Pages first instead of Groups but there are just too many requests from our customers that they want to see Groups in 1.2 rather than Pages. We have decided to take the route to build Groups first and have it served based on our cluster idea. Later on, plugging in Pages and Events would be a breeze because it's just a matter of building another cluster type

Mark, I guess most of your customers are asking for Groups because of Jomsocial migration. Since the initial plan was to merge Pages & Groups so personally I would prefer Pages rather than Groups with Jomsocial migration or a clean install. But anyhow, I like your idea of clustering features into a smaller chunks so it's easier and faster for you guys to develop.

Jomsocial customers who's waiting for features to be implemented like Groups and Events will have to wait until the features are added. If I may suggest I'd like to see Jomsocial like features gets implemented first rather than adding new ones unique to Easy Social. Jomsocial Features like: User Ban/Block, Groups + Events, Video (maybe?), or any other Jomsocial Features that has to be to in EasySocial for these customers to be able to finally migrate to EasySocial. I think a lot of people are just waiting for these features being added before they buy ES or migrate finally. I'm just speaking personally based on what I see from what I read in voices and ES Forum.

Personally I want Groups or Pages + Events and the User Ban/Block features added in 1.2 or 1.3 so I can finally release ES to the wild currently I have to let it used by a controlled number of people because of that missing piece.

Thanks for all your great job! Can't wait for v1.2 to get released and excited what ES Groups would look like I hope Events will be part of it.

Good choice of having groups first. Events would certainly be a great addition! Pages would be a bonus for me.

We will only be working on Pages on 1.5 onwards. We are prioritizing Videos on 1.4
