At the top of posts, there is an orange "+" with "bookmark" next to it.

1. where do we control the items shown
2. Why is it called "bookmarks"?
3. Can we not instead list social media links? what's the difference?

Cheers,
Hi Gilles,

The button is actually called "AddThis" and can be configured from your backend > easyblog > settings > social integrations > AddThis, http://screencast.com/t/RfjcoAGhX2my . Users can quickly share your blog post by using AddThis button to any platform listed in AddThis.
2. Why is it called "bookmarks"?

I believe there are missed translation here and it should be called "Share" instead of bookmarks. I will confirm this with our developers and see how it goes.

Thanks. Yes, Bookmarks makes no sense and "Share this" would.

You didn't tell us how we can control this item though.. How to remove some of the items listed?
We only want FB and Twitter.
It appears StackIdeas is now is taking 24 hours to respond every time I ask a question. This is really slowing down our progress at this end. I understand there is a timezone difference but am hoping we can get a bit of faster response.

Cheers,

Hey Gilles,

Firstly, we created EasyBlog not to cater for you alone, hence the text used might not make any sense to you. But you can freely customize this on your language file by locating the text of "COM_EASYBLOG_BOOKMARK"

Secondly, I see nothing wrong that you get a response within 24 - 48 hours.

Mark,
No need to get defensive.

It's not a question of catering to one person but to take the time to use he correct words to describe something in order to make a product easy to use/understand by the users. Part of creating a quality product. Of course we can change language files but .... care should be taken by StackIdeas to ensure accuracy in the first place.

No other software I know of use the term "bookmark" for social icons. "Bookmarks" traditionally refer to browser bookmarks or something inserted in an index for convenient retrieval later. It's not only my opinion, the users of the site are as perplexed/confused as I am regarding EB's choice of word.

As I mentioned in other posts, this is not the first incident of unclear terms and it's unfair and bad practice to simply to tell your clients "live with it or change the language files yourself"

We do listen to customers and EasyBlog 5 is an end result of suggestions provided by customers but your remarks are pretty insane. Simply because you think the term "bookmark" doesn't make sense for you, does not justify that we should be changing the text.

Changing the text is simple and it's not difficult at all for us to change this but if someone else comes to us complaining about this, we end up changing this over and over again (Just like the read more button colors)

We'll have to agree to disagree on this point. It's a matter of proper English I'm afraid ... not colors.
Moving on.
