Hi Mark and Team,

I think I posted this in my other post but I don't know if you noticed it, I think the Apps will cause confusion for Users since there are no distinction as to what the Apps are for. It is just one list of Apps and a Users won't know where it will appear. Maybe it will be much less confusing if the Apps are arranged by type? Like if the Apps are for Profile there should be a Tab for Profile Apps, or Dashboard Apps, etc.?

Also, I just installed Birthday App and it says in the App Description that "This application will display your friends upcoming birthdays as a widget on your dashboard. " but when I go back to my Dashboard, it still says "No apps installed yet. " I guess telling the users of where the Apps should appear in the Description is not enough

Thanks!
Hi,

Apps is a very wide thing in EasySocial actually. In general, any 3rd party integration comes in the form of apps, and apps are technically just a container that listens to event triggers that in the core, EasySocial triggers.

It ultimately depends on what the app does. Think of it as, Joomla module and plugin rolled up into 1. Some apps have output display in various places, some apps only does something silently in the background, while some have it all.

Hi Jason,

I understand what Apps does more now, thanks for the explanation.

Still, going back to UX/UI I don't think users will understand how Applications work, what they understand is they will be able to use the App. But I am hoping if you arrange the Application as for what it is, Users will get what it is for.

Just like JED, imagine if JED does not categorize all the components, modules, and plugins and just create a one page landing.

I hope a solution to this comes up in the future.

Thanks!

Jackson
