Hi,

I have noticed that all of the agreed to voice requests have vanished again from Voices, in fact there is nothing there now....What's the deal here ?

Dave
Maybe we're all getting EasySocial 2.0 for Christmas with all those voices included?

Just kidding (but it seems the team have been ultra-busy (as usual) on something lately and no clues on the blog... so maybe!.....)

Hey Dave,

Hm, we are actually checking on what is wrong with the "Voices" area. We have removed all the codes that tries to delete the voices and for some reason they are getting deleted.

The last we checked, it was a google bot that was trying to delete a voices item and we have already fixed this.

The Voices are still missing....The upcoming version is also still showing 1.4.

Regards,

I will need to spare some time this weekend to update our voices area. Seems like there is some changes on our issue tracker's API and there are some bugs in the voices extension (The price we have to pay for writing our own )

I'm guessing that voices used a $_GET method for form handling, hence because Google somehow had access, thought it was doing us a solid which turned out not to be the case.

Aside from search engines, someone who knew how to tinker with URL's could have done the same thing (I'm not saying that is what actually happened). I'm assuming voices now uses $_POST for the method of deletion?

Nope, there's a proper checking before any deletion happens

Good news everyone, our old voice pages can be viewed through here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20150501000000*/http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial

Here is an example of an archive of October 15, 2015:
https://web.archive.org/web/20151015190708/http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial

It even displays the description and such: https://web.archive.org/web/20150430090336/http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial/item/98

The bad news is that our voice pages are still deleted, however through the links above we (the users of Stackideas) can restore them.

Thanks for sharing this Josh! By the way, they can no longer be deleted now.

@mark any idea if previous voice items will be restored? I noticed that many items that I submitted a while back are missing.

I don't think there is a restore method. This is why I advise that you use the way back machine to find your old voices. You can choose various archive dates in case you can't find them from the link above.

Yeah, I can pull up the backups database but the problem is we have no idea when this started happening and it would be an overkill to go through row by row
