I too want this and I agree with what Thomas says that being able to view this info entices users to join. It really comes down to how you use your site - not all communities want to hide data until you become a member. For many, like me, groups is a convenient way to categorize different aspects of the community. Being able to aggregate the events on the main event page is a must.
Also, not really sure why it is possible to see other aspects of the group such as posts to the stream but not events - doesn't really make much sense. If sharing group data was a privacy issue surely all group data would be hidden, this is not the case.
Having migrated from JomSocial where sharing group data publicly is possible, not having this ability in EasySocial is something that I really miss. At a basic level having private groups and public groups solves these issues and puts the control into the hands of the group owner / administrator, this way you do not need to worry about privacy and ACL concerns.
Are there any plans to add privacy controls for groups? If so what kind of timeline?
