Hello:

We have a site that has a Members Only area which is where Easy Discuss is used. They are required to login. However, when a post or reply is made, an email is sent to the members. There is a Read Discussion button in the email. When they click on it, they go to the default Joomla login page which then, upon logging in, they go to a generic page on the site.

How do we create a login that will take the viewer directly to the post in the email? I have seen this in other forums.

Thank you.
Hi Channing,

Setting the backend by:
1. Click Settings>general>login&authentication: https://www.screencast.com/t/2yux1f4rj7ac

Hi Fadhi:

That works if I use the forum login. However, when I select the "Read Discussion" button in an email, it takes me to the standard Joomla login. That redirects me, upon logging in, to a regular page, not a forum page.

If this cannot be attained, then we could simply redirect them to the forum login page using links in the email templates.

I appreciate your assistance.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I've checked in your site, it seems like you set this menu item "coand-forum" only registered user can access, once you set this permission, it will redirect to Joomla login page when someone trying to access discussion on your site.

If that is the case, that is not possible to achieve this.

And I also checked your Easydiscuss categories already set guest user will not have the permission to access it, so what my suggest is, switch this "coand-forum" to hidden menu and set to public user can access.

Then enable this option 'Enable Error Redirection' from backend > Easydiscuss > advanced , then try access one of your discussion post as guest user, it should point you to Easydiscuss login form, once it login successfully, it will redirect back to that discussion post.
