Videos Category Allowed Profile Types

Hi There,

I created an Open Page then I logged in as another user and liked this page. I am able to add a Video (Vimeo) in the Stream, after I pasted the Vimeo URL the dropdown to select a Category appeared and so I selected a category which was set to allowed a certain Profile Type which the current user does not belong to but it still allowed the current user to post.

And when I go to Videos, the video I just posted in the Pages are not showing in the Videos page. Is that how it supposed to work? I guess it is fine but why let the user select a Category when posting a video in the stream if the video will not appear in videos page, right?

Hi Jackson,
Can you try downloading the attached file below and apply it into the following directory?
JoomlaFolder/media/com_easysocial/apps/page/videos/videos.php
Let us know whether this fixes the video category profile types permission issue during page video uploads.

Hi Raymond,

The patch seems to work, the category item which a user profile is not allowed access does not appear in the dropdown anymore. Thanks for that.

What about the logic behind selecting a video category but the video does not appear under Videos at all. Shouldn't be all videos being uploaded either via Videos view or Timeline/Stream should show up under videos?

It depends on where the video is uploaded at. Videos uploaded in cluster view(groups, pages, events) would not appear in the video page of EasySocial.
Those videos have their own privacy setting from their respective group, page, events. You can find those videos in the videos page of their respective groups, pages, or events.
