From the main videos menu item you can see video links such as:
https://peakfun.com/video/videos/1-mount-jefferson?from=listing

It should theoretically be:
https://peakfun.com/video/1-mount-jefferson

A few reasons:
1. It's shorter
2. Redundant usage of "video" in the URL
3. Prevent duplicate entries in search engines

As for the parameter, it's not needed. The recommended URL type works as is as seen in the second link.
I have already linked a ticket in our internal issue tracker to this thread If there is a need of a fix, we'll probably push it on the next release.

There is no way to remove the /videos/ portion from the query string right now but it's worth considering this in the future version. Will move this under the feature requests section.

Sam has been refactoring the urls on EasySocial 2 heavily, let me discuss with him to see if this would be even possible.

Mark, it's actually refactored as is. Check this out: https://peakfun.com/video/1-mount-jefferson

The issue is that the menu item listings page doesn't link to the already shortened version by default.

Hi Josh,

How did you achieved a URL:

http://www.domain.com/video/1-mount-jefferson

Did you create a menu item for Video? In my site, I created a menu item Videos with alias "videos" and my URL is:

http://www.domain.com/videos/videos/10-test?from=listing

I turned off SH404SEF and only Joomla SEF is on. I am also using nginx.

Thanks,

Jackson

http://www.domain.com/video/1-mount-jefferson works with the menu item being video. However the bad news is that the listing menu item links to http://www.domain.com/videos/videos/10-test?from=listing by default. So it's not a matter of refactoring the URL routing so much as changing the output for the video listings menu item URLs.

You can test this by simply removing "/videos" and the query string (?from=listing) from the URL.

Yes, it does! Interesting! So as with category:

http://www.domain.com/video/categories/1-general

I think its a matter of refactoring the router library and unsetting unecessary parameters in queries.
