Vanilla template issues

I am trying to use the Vanilla template alongside another template from a different company. For some reason when i select specific pages for the other template to display the vanilla template overrides this. Unless i disable the vanilla template entirely, it doesn't allow me to use another template. Why is this happening?

- Joomla backend access
- FTP access
- which page you would like to show other template?

It later worked. It took longer than usual for the effects to show. Sorry for the disturbance
