Thanks for your suggestion and I believe your suggestion is quite interesting to be implemented. Unfortunately, this cannot be done currently because Helix framework renders the menu automatically on the header. In order to achieve this, we'll need to move the menu out from the header.

I will log this as a ticket to our developers for future request. We'll see if we can implement this in the future.
