Dear SI,

So one of my clients wants to start a Newsletter...I will need to use MailChimp to handle the mailing lists...

My question is how to utilize Easyblog posts with Mailchimp to send new posts out to the entire mailing list...

I know this is a rather "loaded" question, but I've never done it before...one of the reasons I chose Easyblog was the integration with MailChimp...saw this coming from my client...and here we are...LOL...

Any direction would be appreciated...

Mike-

Hello,

We are on our way to integrate Mailchimp and as I understand EasyBlog 4.0 will not be released as it have been replaced with EasyBlog 5.0. What will happen with Mailchimp in EasyBlog 5.0 will it have the new Mailchimp functionality as it was planned for EasyBlog 4.0, if yes what will the new functionality be?

Thanks,
Finn

Hello Finn,

It's already possible to create new campaigns on Mailchimp when you create a blog post on EasyBlog 3.9 . Not really sure if I understand what features are you referring to here?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your reply.

The issue here is that I properly don't understand how it is working .

If we set the "Create Campaigns" to Yes in the back-end of EasyBlog it will create a new campaign every time someone create a new blog. What if we want to send a weekly update of the blogs which have been released doing the week. How can we do that? If we want to include a few blogs in our monthly newsletter at Mailchimp how is this possible? Or we want to do a campaign which only include one category at EasyBlog?

We had a look into the AcyMailing EasyBlog plugin and this give you a what I will call a full integration for EasyBlog -https://www.acyba.com/acymailing/403-acymailing-plugin-easyblog.html. Our issue is that we need to use Mailchimp because we use several thirdparties cloud services which all integrate which Mailchimp very well. If that not was the case we would properly have gone for AcryMailing.

Hello Finn,

If you want to perform a manual send, you need to disable the "Create Campaigns" and manually create your campaign. The basic integration that EasyBlog provides, is to link the subscribers on your Mailchimp list.
