Can anyone share the approx. monthly price of using Amazon S3 for less than 1k users and approx. 10GB bandwidth?
Hello Peter,

Here's the calculator that's provided by Amazon S3 http://calculator.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html?key=a-simple-3-tier-web-app

Hi Mark

I looked at the common customers samples and clicked on "website on AWS".

Without the first year discount, the monthly cost is $87.55

Does that sound right if we configure ES to use Amazon just for media storage and nothing else?

I think it really depends, but I guess it really depends on how much data you use. There's no "fixed" calculation for this

That's insane pricing. Sounds like it'll have to wait until other storage options are made available.

Thanks Mark!

hi Peter and Mark, the costs for s3 storage could be reduced if stackideas would offer a Metadata settings field in ES, EB 4.0 for cache-control and expired values!

see here: http://jetheis.com/blog/2012/03/08/cutting-s3-costs-with-metadata/

Hello Rene,

You could probably save some bandwidth but not the storage though.
