Hi there,

I would like to see how audio files are handled with your EasyBlog component, but it isn't available in the demo until I purchase it. I need the audio file to be added to a Joomla Field so it can be included in RSS feeds generated from our Articles. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Pitir Furch
Hi Pitir Furch,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Regarding audio support in EasyBlog, EasyBlog allow user to upload the audio files into your site and after post is saved, EasyBlog will render the audio player in the blog content.

I've enabled the audio block in our demo site and please login with below user and when you create new blog post, you should see the audio block in the block selection panel. Please see attached image.

I've also created a sample blog post that demonstrate the audio block in the content.

You can try again with EasyBlog audio block using below credential:

username: demo
password: password

I need the audio file to be added to a Joomla Field so it can be included in RSS feeds generated from our Articles. Is this possible?

Not too sure what do you mean by adding into Joomla field but if you simply want to show your blog posts into your Joomla articles rss feeds, you can enable EasyBlog 'Auto Article' plugin so that when you create a blog post in EasyBlog, this plugin will auto create a Joomla article with the same content.

Let us know if you have any other questions related to EasyBlog and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for the reply Sam.

Unfortunately, I am still unable to see the audio block after logging in with the user/pass you provided. There are still no blocks to select in the demo.

I tried the link you gave to see the audio block in action but I am getting a 404 error page for that URL.

We are using a Joomla Component that creates RSS feeds from Articles to create podcasts from Articles that have audio files. In Joomla I created a Field called 'Audio', and when it has the URL to an MP3 in that Field it becomes part of a podcast that uses the text and image from the Article as the description for the podcast.

It would be great if EasyBlog could populate that Joomla Field with the URL to the audio file when it is uploaded, saving time and confusion for our news reporters (we are a nonprofit television and radio broadcaster).

Thanks again and please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Hello Pitir,

The demo site probably got reset when you tried to access it. What you can do is to login as the user "Darius Scott", https://vx.my/vdlqxqdn . Then, add a new post and follow my video here on adding a new audio block, https://vx.my/azelaa49

By the way, EasyBlog does not store the posts as Joomla articles and that could be an issue with your custom Joomla component that creates podcasts. Having said that, EasyArticles does store its posts in Joomla articles and it is a front-end editor as well.

You could try it here, http://easyarticles.stackideas.com/

Thanks again for the information.

I think you are right, we should be looking at EasyArticles. We have a Joomla Field called "audio" that is just a URL to an mp3 file. How would a user get the URL of an mp3 they are uploading into our "audio" Joomla Field using EasyArticles?

Best,
Pitir

Hi Pitir,

Regarding the above, if you require your user to upload the mp3 file to your server, then most likely in your Joomla field, you want to set the field type to 'media' so that from EasyArticle's composer, user can upload their mp3 file.

Hope this help and have a nice day
