I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
You can edit your author biography from your front end > setting button > edit profile > Short biography ( http://screencast.com/t/MLVmPFWeFXKU ).
Unfortunately we do not have this option for integrate with the JomSocial "About" field.
But you can see what option we have integrate with the JomSocial from backend > Easyblog > Setting > Integration > JomSocial

Ok, hope you can fix this is an upcoming version of EasyBlog.
Hope you see how "foolish" this is for JomSoical (or EasySocial) users. I can not depend on or ask users to fill in their biography twice in two different systems.
Should be easy to set "If Jomsocial, fetch biogrphy from JomSocial About field".

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We do have a field in EasySocial for setting the blog description from their profile but not to their "About" field. As for the Jomsocial issue, i will add this in the request list Hope this helps.

I have both the latest version of EasySocial and Easyblog and I do not see the option in Easyblog/Integrations/EasySocial so that Easyblog picks up EasySocial biography.

How do I avoid users from entering their biography in two places?

How about if I rename the EasySocial "Details" to Biography then you add this to Easyblog/Integrations/EasySocial?
COM_EASYSOCIAL_FIELDS_PROFILE_DEFAULT_DETAILS_DESC

Sorry for late reply to this,
You should download this Easyblog biography apps -> http://stackideas.com/apps/item/44-easyblog-biography then go to your backend > EasySocial > Profile type > select your profile type > custom field > click and drag the biography field in your list.

Can you provide us some screenshot which part are you mentioned EasySocial "Details"
If I'm not getting wrong your meaning, you can rename the language string in this file -> administrator\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_easysocial.ini
