Hi,
I make some changes in EasyDiscuss Categories Permission so only specific users groups to see the discussions. The problem is after a user is registered he is assigned to 2 groups: Joomla default Registered group and the one i make. How to make the user to be assigned only to EasyDiscuss Category group i assigned?
I want the user to see only specific part from the Forum after registration. Right now they see all the categories

Hey there,

For an example, you have category A, B and C and category B is the only category that registered user group can view it only.

You need to make sure that the 'View Discussion in this Category' in Category B's permission only set to Registered User Group only.

For the remaining categories' 'View Discussion in this Category' in Permission, you need to untick the Registered User Group so that they can't able to view it.

Or do you mean that you want the new registered users will be assigned to the user group that you created instead of Joomla's Registered User Group?

If yes, you can change it at 'New User Registration Group' which is at Backend > Users > Options as shown in the screenshot.

If I still understand your question wrongly, can you provide us with some screenshots and include your site's access and FTP's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so that I can have a better check of it?

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi,
I guess i have to explain more.
I create a group in Joomla with the name Forum1. Only users who pay true Virtuemart have access to this Category of my forum (and they are assigned to be in group Forum1) The rest of the forum categories are open to only users who register. So a user makes payment and he sees the whole forum because Joomla is assigning him both groups (Register and Forum1) How can i separate this? I want when a user pays to see only the category i assign group Forum1.
Is this make sense to you?

Ok. Make it work with one Plugin i found!

Now i have one more question. Is it possible to have different Heading Description and Heading Title to every different category? Or some sort of workaround?

Hey there,

I think I got what you mean there.

Do you mean that once the users have done the payment, they will be assigned to 'Forum1' user group so that they only able to access the category discussion posts that 'Forum1' user group can view only?

And your current issue is once the users have done the payment, the Joomla system will assign them to 2 Joomla User Group which are 'Registered' user group and Forum1 instead of 'Forum1' only?

May I know are you using Payplans extension for your site billing system?

If yes, I suspect there is a misconfiguration your current Payplans app instance.

By the way, It looks like your subscription for Payplans has expired and in order for you to continue requesting support for Payplans, you will need an active subscription. If you have already renewed, can you update your site's access and FTP's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so that we can have a better check on your current issue?

Thank you for understanding.

Regarding your new question, can you please start a new ticket for this new question rather than posting on your existing thread so that our moderators will able to handle your issue easily and to avoid confusion?

Thanks for your understanding.

I found this plugin: Add Buyers to Joomla Groups for VirtueMart
Now when they buy the Forum i make a rule to add them to Forum 1 and remove them from Register group. This work for me.
No I'm not using PayPlans I'm using OSE Membership. I was asking for help in PayPlans forum because we have 300 products and i don't want to move them one by one in to PayPlans so i never use PayPlans because there is not any automated process for that

Hey there,

To be frank with you, we never use this OSE Membership and this 3rd party plugin before, so we totally not understand how it works.

Based on what I see, it seems like you already found a solution to handle this so when someone purchases one of the plans on your site, the system can manage to remove 'Registered' user group from that new registered user account.

In other words, if this new user can able to see those other restricted category discussion post without using any 3rd party plugin or OSE Membership extension, this can be confirmed is Easydiscuss bug, because it doesn't respect as what you configure this permission from the category setting.

By the way, glad to hear that your issue resolved.
