Hi guys,

some users sent me the message, that my comment function (standard easy blog) isn't working. I tried by myself and got the message "SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data" (please see picture). However, i received already some comments. So I'm not sure if there are certain conditions causing the issue.

I tried it again and it was working...very puzzling. Maybe the issue is not always reproducable. However, as comments are the spice in a blog i would preffer that this function works 100%.

EDIT: Tried again and got error: SyntaxError: Unexpected token I in JSON at position 0

Thanks in advance
Marcel
Hello Marcel,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. The reason that you are getting that error is most likely because there are some errors generated when an ajax call is made on the site.

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue? You may store your site access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so you don't have to provide these information all the time

Hello Marcel,

I have tried to reproduce this but I still cannot reproduce this error on your site. Upon posting a comment, it seems to be working fine as you can see here, http://take.ms/tBPF8

Thanks for the effort. i would like to write that the issue is solved and that it was an event by chance. However, i tried to add another comment below your comment as of today and i got again an error, different to the ones mentioned before. Please see image. The problem is, that many people don't give the feedback, that the comment functionality doesn't work. So i'm not sure if it's working properly or not, which make me uncertain. I used IE 11.

Thanks Marcel

Hello Marcel,

How do you reproduce this issue? Are you logged in on the front end when posting?

Hi, no i visited the site as an unregistered user. I don't use the registratio functionality at all. So all users post as guests. May you can reproduce it by not signing in into the backend?!
Thanx Marcel
