Hi there,

I am getting this problem (which I think was always there as my site is offline most of the time) who basically does not allow a user to use their email to login. When a user is about to login, they are asked to add:

Your username or email address

However, if I put in my email address and my password, I get this message

Error; This email is already registered

If I then use my username and password, it does allow me in!!
yep, same problem here.
ticket is already created on this so I guess we might see a fix in the next version

Hey Alex,

Sorry, I wasn't aware others had the same issue. Any word from Stackideas when will it actually be fixed?

oh, heard nothing exactly on that but as we all know how quick they are I guess we should really see this fixed in the next version.
but I haven't stressed them on this as I know it's now jwc + holiday + easydiscuss 3.2 development so they got lots of things going on

If you look at the issues log, you'll see this has been reported and fixed. We'll just have to wait fro v1.0.6 I guess.

Hi David,

Do you mind if I perform some test on your site (including enabling your site)? If so could you provide me an FTP access as well?

Hey guys,

Can you download the attached file and upload it into /plugins/authentication/easysocial/ and let me know if this works for you?

Hi Mark, I downloaded that file (plug-in) and uploaded it to my site. It did not play well with the rest of my site, from a user privilege / ACL standpoint...and while the site didn't crash right away, once I put EasySocial into developer mode (moved it from "optimized" to "development," the site had a fatal error. Here's a screencapture:

http://awesomescreenshot.com/0431xo70f0

:: EDITED UPDATE ::

HERE IS MY FATAL ERROR (in the Administrator directory)...
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /****/****public_html/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/less/parsers/lessc.inc.php on line 304

:: END UPDATE ::

:: 2ND UPDATE ::

Nevermind, the fatal error was UNRELATED to this. The problem occurred when I switched to Developer mode, which overrode my server. I solved it thanks to your helpful support forum search, here: http://stackideas.com/forums/easysocal-backend-admin-broken#reply-104518

:: END ::

Jason,

It sounds like John's problems were not related. Do you think it is safe to install the attachment?

I installed that script originally, and DID have some issues, prior to my other, non-related problem. I am sorry I did not articulate them yet, as I've been busy getting the site re-initiated. I over-wrote your script, so I wouldn't have any unknown issues while going LIVE with our site, CMS Connection.

In the next few hours, I'll re-install that script above (on our staging site), and give you my assessment, in a less harried mode.

Apologies again to the Thread owner for my mixing variables before reporting back on the issue at-hand.

Well, I'm having other issues with login still, related to Joomla-Easyblog first, so I will not be participating in this string very soon, I'm afraid. Need to focus on solving more basic issues first. Then this.
