Hello,

Several Users have complained they cannot change their password.
I tried to replicate but do not have the issue at my end.

Is there a setting to make this possible for them?

Regards,
Nev
Hi Nev,
The access you provided is not working. Can you check and update your access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so I can help you test and investigate this issue?

Hi Nev,
I cant access your frontend. Perhaps you can provide super admin access so I can create new users from the backend to test the password changing process and also troubleshoot the issue? Let us know, thanks.

Hi Raymond,

I'm sorry for the delay in responding.

I have been experiencing major issues updating to Joomla Joomla! 3.6.1 because the Joomla! update component is broken due to a SQL error and I'm not sure if it may impacting on my site.

Also a backend white page issue on another 3party plugin.
The other 3 party provider is looking at this now.

When he's finishes I will give you an updated access to debug the ES issues.

Thank you for your patience and I will reconnect soon.

Regards,
Nev

Hi Raymond,

Update FYI.
The Joomla update of 3.6.1 contributed to killing the site. (It had bugs)

I will reload from the backup prior to that and then make some changes.

If all works ok I will then provide access codes so you can look at troubleshoot the ES issues.

I may have to make a new build on localhost because I don't know how to fix the parsing error SQL of the timestamp mismatch which has disabled the Joomla Update Component.

Thanks for your patience.

I hope to give you an update you soon.

Meantime I hope you have a great weekend

Regards,
Nev

Hi Nev,
It seems there is an inconsistency in the mail sender setting between the mail settings in the Global Configuration and your EasySocial Settings>General>Emails (refer screenshot). I have changed the setting in EasySocial to be similar to the one in the Global Config. I have also tested this myself with a valid email and I'm receiving the password recovery email now. You can ask your users to test this again and see how it goes.
If this is not the issue your users are having, perhaps you can better explain which part of the password reset process they are having issue with.
Let us know how it goes, thanks.

Hi Raymond,

Thank you for the AWESOME fast work and clear tutorial !!

Feedback: I received this OK. "This is a test mail sent using "SMTP". If you receive it, then your email settings are correct!"

I'll mark this resolved as well.

I'll listen to feedback from users.

Thanks again!

Best Regards,
Nev
