hi guys ... we are using easydiscuss and have gone through settings a number of times and can't find how to let users edit their posts, replies, etc

would really like to work out how to enable this, as have spent hours in settings and searching for a solution and can't find it.

... I can see it on your site here as a little edit button - so obviously I'm just missing something.
Hello Max Lynam ,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Can i have your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this ? Please advise.

By the way, It looks like your account isn't tied up with any subscriptions on our site. Is there any mistake on our end? Would it be possible for you to contact us at https://crm.stackideas.com and provide us with the order reference and your username so that we can fix this up for you?

Hi Arlex ... thanks for reply, but no and no ... sorry.
As this is public forum I can't list the site and can't really give you the login details either ... as it contains sensitive information.
If you could advise instructions on how to set this up so editing is allowed it would be appreciated.

If there's an issue in replying with the information you have, please ask Mark if it's OK to reply to me and then reply or not.

Thanks, Max

Hello Max Lynam,

I'm sorry that delayed of this reply,
Actually what version of Easydiscuss you're using now in your site?
Because by default the user should be have the permission to edit their owner discussion post.

Hi Arlex ... version is currently 3.2.9304. It does say there is an update ... so will get that updated.

While I do that, is there a setting/location where the editing of a post/comment can be set? I think that's the main issue ... I can't find this anywhere.

As it's a big member site there are a lot of ACL settings to manage memberships, downloads, access to forum areas, etc Could the ACL change the ability of people to edit their posts? If so, are there any docs on how to configure this with EasyDiscuss?

PS: like the new site design

Hello Max Lynam,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Try replace my attachment file in your site. The following file is added 2 option for ACL "Edit own reply" and "Edit own question".
JoomlaFolder\components\com_easydiscuss\controllers\posts.php
JoomlaFolder\components\com_easydiscuss\classes\postaccess.php
JoomlaFolder\administrator\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_easydiscuss.ini

After you updated those file, you can to manually add 2 rules in your in your database Easydiscuss table #_discuss_acl , check my screenshot below.
