I have a closed group and when I post on the time line in that group, others members of the group see the post but only have the options so "Like" or "Repost". They don't have the "Comment" option. I have searched and can not find any setting that would stop them being able to post comments to an item. This has just been pointed out to me today and it may be it has only become an issue since I updated to the latest version yesterday?
Hey Andrew,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Looking at the story app for groups, there isn't any restrictions for comments. Is it possible for you to provide us with the following access:

1. Admin access
2. FTP access
3. The url to the post for the group
4. The user account that doesn't see the comment link.

I have given you the admin details below. The example group is at
http://www.quintasensual.org/quintasocial/groups/item/11-quintasensual-festival-team. In the Optional details below is a standard account name and password you can log in to front end and see how it is not showing things (the admin user is also a member of that group)
Please note my FTP server is locked by default (ISP policy) so please let me know if you will need access and I can unlock it.

Hi Andrew,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. I am still not able to access your FTP due to the following error message,
Response:	530 Login failed. Please verify the username and password supplied, and that FTP has been unlocked. Check your control panel or contact support for more information.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

Please advise.

I have re-entered the login details in tabs below. The unlock is set for a longer period now I hope.

Hi Andrew,

I'm getting the same response here when I'm trying to access it again with the provided credentials.

Please try again now. If that doesn't work please let me know the IP address you are trying to connect from and I can try adding that to the allowed list.

Hi Andrew,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. I've checked your configuration settings again and it seems like you have disabled "add comments" for profile types Member as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/aFkuVoF7zJz hence the comment link will not get generated for users under that profile type. I've helped you to enabled the settings and it should be working correctly now.

Thanks. It's interesting you said originally "Looking at the story app for groups, there isn't any restrictions for comments" and even then it sounds like it took a lot of searching on your part to find this setting. Perhaps the back end configuration or/and the documentation could do with a re-think!

Anyway thanks for your assistance on this. I'm not sure why I would have set it like that and sure it didn't used to be. Is this a new setting or is it possible it got changed as part of an update at some time?

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your consideration on this. Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved now.

By right it will not get change unless you change it yourself at your backend. Perhaps you or other site admin changed it previously and since your site is heavily cached it will take quite some time for the change to appear on your frontend.
