Having troubles registering with Facebook. I am assuming that the site is requesting a username from Facebook but according to their API v2.0, usernames are no longer supported.

I have been trying to figure this out with little luck and I am under the impression that Joomla requires a username regardless. I tried turning on the 'use email as username' function which did not help.

Any support would be helpful.

Thanks!
Hi,

Hmm this is peculiar. I can't reproduce this on our test ground. Please provide us your site's access and FTP access to investigate this.

Hi,

Thanks for the access but I will need your site's address as well as your site's backend access.

Hi,

1. I can't access Backend -> EasySocial with the provided credentials.
2. When I try to test Facebook Login in the frontend, I am getting an error (refer to screenshot).

You should be good to go; upgraded the credentials.

The Facebook Login had been turned off to the public. I turned it back to live.

Thanks!

Hi,

I actually still can't access your FTP but I managed to replicate this issue. This is due to a change in Facebook's API.

Here are some files to patch to remedy the issue (since I can't access your FTP to patch it).

user.php -> /administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/user/user.php
joomla_username.php -> /media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/user/joomla_username/joomla_username.php
registration.php -> /components/com_easysocial/controllers/registration.php
view.html.php -> /components/com_easysocial/views/registration/view.html.php
