Hello Stackideas team,

I would like for our users to access their easysocial page at
- http://www.mysite.org/username

rather than
- http://www.mysite.org/profile/username

Actually i would like to remove "profile" from the url. How to do this?

Thanking you in advance

Raph
Hello Raph,

You can follow this tutorial to create the required URL: http://stackideas.com/forums/awesome-url-s-for-profiles-site-com-name

Thanks Nik for your quick reply,

As I understand : should we go the plugin way, we have the choice between :

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension/site-management/short-url/profile-url which has "Profile URLs integrations:
- EasySocial"

and http://extensions.joomla.org/extension/sh404sef : "Easysocial has already its own sh404sef plugin built in. " quote from: http://anything-digital.com/forum/extension/sh404sef/9504-feature-request-to-add-support-for-easysocial.html

As per the last quote: could you elaborate more on the sh404sef plugin built in?

Which (other) way to proceed you would recommend?

With kind regards

Raph

Hello Raph,

Both ways should work but with SH404, you need to have some custom configuration and your home menu needs to be EasySocial so that the URL would be site.com/username rather than site.com/profile/username

Hi Mark,

I have this configuration (jpg attached) with Community being Easysocial and being set as homepage, so rewriting should work with this config?
