Hello there, I have a strange issue.

It seems that user from hotmail and probably gmail don't receive the registration emails.

I even switched from phpmail to smtp .. but nothing ...

I did some test and the strange thing is the email can receive email from our email address but cannot receive from the registration.

It is like they erase the email or the never arrive ...I am a bit lost.

In case to make sure ... where is located the email that make start and send the registration and what service easysocial use to send email?

Best Regards
Antonio
Hello Antonio,

EasySocial doesn't queue registration e-mails because users should get these e-mails instantaneously. Please verify that those e-mails aren't in the spam

Antonio can you check your mail logs (mail errors) with your host?. It may be bounced back by Hotmail. They have really strict mail rejection in place now.

I got a new ip recently because Hotmail rejected all our email. It had nothing to do with us, but with someone who had used that same IP over 4 years ago. Ugh. Took awhile to sort out. Anyway, your host should be able to help you determine if that is the issue or not really easily.

hope that helps,

Bridgette

you are likely going to have to sign up to the Microsoft JMRP system. https://mail.live.com/mail/services.aspx#Section1

if you own the IP address's you can register them and get reports.

Hey Antonio,

If only Hotmail user unable to receive the registration email, it might be some restricted from your mail server outgoing service. It would be best if you can consult with your web hosting provider regarding this.

Hello Kazimierz,

Is this only happening on registrations or every other e-mail generated on the site?

So far it has been nothiced only on registration, because the ip server is not blacklisted. my personal idea is as well the layout of some title too big (font size 32) that maybe the system reject, or maybe as someone said is the IP

the log email I found is the following,

Reporting-MTA: dns; gate2.local
X-Postfix-Queue-ID: C224C598C
X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; w**@******.it
Arrival-Date: Thu, 3 Nov 2016 07:24:31 -0400 (EDT)

Final-Recipient: rfc822; **_*****@hotmail.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0
Remote-MTA: dns; mx2.hotmail.com
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 SC-001 (COL004-MC5F18) Unfortunately, messages from
5.249.***.**7 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider
since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your
provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors.

Best Regards
Antonio

550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Outlook.com for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your Email/Internet Service Provider for help.

The reason is clear - someone on that IP block (the one you share) is blocked. Talk to your hosting company and they can unblock it. If it's blocked (blacklisted) on many sites, they may need to provision a new IP address.

Below in bold is where the error is shown - I took it from your message above.

"Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 SC-001 (COL004-MC5F18) Unfortunately, messages from
5.249.***.**7 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider
since part of their network is on our block list
."

You can use one of the many blacklist checkers online for free:

Here are a couple

http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check

http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

Hope that helps,

Nope - my final suggestion from me is to talk with your hosting provider and ask that IP group be checked for blacklist entries. It is a very simple process for them to ask to have it delisted. This happens all the time.

Only your host can do it - but they know how, so ask.

This is definitely not a Stackideas issue but a host one. I'm only jumping in to the thread because this happened recently on one of my servers.

Good luck,

Bridgette

I will let you know

Hello Antonio,

To be honest, there is really nothing we can do on our part because if you are receiving registration emails from non hotmail accounts, then it basically means that it works fine. If the only problem relies on hotmail, it's most likely that:

1. As Bridgette mentioned, one of the ip address or mail server has already been blacklisted by Microsoft.

2. Based on Microsoft's own algorithm in detecting spams, your mails fall under that category.

Your best bet is definitely to check with your hosting provider as they would have the full details as to why the routing failed. Alternatively, subscribe to services such as Mailgun, Mandrill for transactional e-mails.

They are free up to a certain extent but it will give you a good insight if the e-mails are bounced since they have a boxtrapper for all e-mails that goes through their SMTP server.
