User groups able to see categories without permissions

I have a category that is only visible to one user group, however other user groups are able to see it in the Recent posts view (including the preview text). When they click to go through, it says there is a broken link or they don't have permissions.

Is there a way to prevent it showing up in the Recent tab completely? The category isn't visible in the Category or Forum view.

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I've checked on your existing categories permission setting, it seems like that 'view discussion' part you set to allow public/guest user to access your discussion post under these categories, you can check my attached screenshot below.

Perhaps you can try re-configure again disable those public/guest permission access and see how it goes?

If the issue still persists, can you share with us which category you referring to and which discussion shouldn't show for guest user?
