May I ask why this is not possible?

It is possible through Joomla to create a menu item that allows a user to edit their email address. However, since on our website we only use user accounts and profiles in Easy Discuss, it is exceedingly confusing to have a separate menu just for editing the profile, especially since EasyDiscuss has the same link (Edit Profile) yet without the email address.

For usability and simplicity, it would really be good to have the EasyDiscuss profile capable of editing the user email address. (And to save admins from constantly changing users email addresses).

Thanks for writing in. We are sorry, it is not in our consideration to allow user to edit email when developing Easydiscuss. Maybe we have missed that. However, we will discuss with our developers about this feature.

+1 to this feature. We modified the joomla profile-changer for this to show only the two email fields but this is not a nice solution. Hope to see this in one of the future updates.

is this feature implemented in EasyDiscuss? It would be really umcomfortable and confusing for the users to have a second profile page only to be able to change the email adress.

Unfortunately it is still not possible to edit the email in easydiscuss profile currently .
