Having a strange problem where members cannot register on our site. Not with FB nor regular.
it just keeps returning to the login screen.
They should have to fill out several custom fields, and then admin's should get a notice that they wish to register and then will need to be approved. Once approved the member should then get a completion email.
can someone please take a look ASAP.
I just found out they can't login with facebook, nor request their password. It just tell's them to "login"

Hi Troy,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue, look like your EasySocial dashboard menu item the access was set to 'registered' thus you are getting the 'please login first'. What you can do to fix this issue is by adding another menu item that pointing to EasySocial 'registration' and set the access to 'public'

Let me know if the above method work for you or not
Have a nice day

we don't want anyone but registered users to see anything other then the public menu . the site is for members only. if you look @ how jomsocial behaves you'll see what we want.

Not sure if this is what you mean but have you seen the lock down setting?

Lets you have the site live but only accessible to those who are registered & you can choose whether or not to let new registrations occur while the site is set to lockdown.

Hello Troy,

I understand that you only want logged users ( registered ) to view your EasySocial pages. What I suggest was, create a menu item that link to your EasySocial registration view and set this menu item's access to public. If you do not want your guest to view this 'Register' menu item, then most probably you want to add a 'hidden' menu and then create this menu item inside this 'hidden' menu.

And, thank for sharing Jason. Yeah, maybe you wanna take a look at EasySocial 'lockdown' mode and see if this feature suit your need or not
Hope this help and have a nice day

nope, something isn't working. It is set to public and if I change it to registered instead of login layout it takes you to register page, but that should happen from the "register" link on the login layout. register doesn't really help because then users can't login.
the home screen should provide users with a place to login or register. this is the normal joomla behavior.
home IS set to public. if you will look @ the site and change home from easysocial to jomsocial you'll see it works perfectly. It's only easysocial where it doesn't work.
@jason, I'll look @ lockdown more carefully.
I had it in lockdown and yes but turned it off trying to get this to work.

Hi Troy,

Regarding your 'user not able to register' issue, today I just tried register myself in your site and the registration went through. Please see http://screencast.com/t/AgUewd7HROP

Is your issue now resolved? Please advise.

nope, I did not get anything asking me to approve you. Did you regsiter via FB or manually?
Did it ask you about your game character? It should've required you do so.

member tested the registration today and it worked EXCEPT...
clicking on the new members avatar in "easysocial users" instead of going to HER profile, goes to mine http://alterego-of-pwi.info/profile/smurfmeeroo but that is the linked URL LOL
so instead of http://alterego-of-pwi.info/profile/smurfmeeroo taking me to hers, it takes me to mine.

update: i just realized its taking us to jomsocial!!! wth LOL Disabling SEF solves it but thats a horrible solution

I registered via normal registration and yes, it did ask me to fill in the game character ( main and optional )

Do you have JomSocial redirection plugin? If yes, try to disable the plugin and see if that help or not.
Please advise.
