Seems I cannot get the Joomla breadcrumbs to work with easyblog.
This issue was not apparent on the earlier 3.x version indeed I have second test site that is working using the old version and I know it breaks as soon as I update.
I have a blog with five categories set up. I have the menu "Blogs" as a main menu option and it has the five blog categories as sub-menus.
If as an example I go to the category 'In the News" which generates a site URL /blogs/in-the-news I get my category view and it agrees with the Joomla breadcrumb. If I then open a blog post I get a good result and the site url /blogs/in-the-news/entry/join-the-recovery-month-celebration-on-september-17th as expected and a joomla breadcrumb of
Home / Blogs / In the News / Join the Recovery Month Celebration on September 17th!
All good so far. Now my Test Cases:
Click the blog header for category, see the site url /blogs/in-the-news and it all works = Pass
Click the Breadcrumb for In the News get the site URL /blogs/in-the-news/in-the-news which gives a 404 page not found because of the wrong URL. There is no legal url for in-the-news/in-the-news so this test fails and is my problem.l
I have played with what menu items to use for Blog and the categories, does not seem to make any difference.
Blogs Menu is set to EasyBlog » (Categories) All Categories
The sub menus all have the form EasyBlog » (Categories) Single Category
If you go to the site, the Blogs page has four GK-NewsPro-5 modules published so whatever was in the main block of the template is replaced by their content. This way I have control over what happens on the Bogs landing page.
Any help you have on solving this would be appreciated. This issue was not apparent on the earlier 3.x version indeed I have second test site that is working using the old version and I know it breaks as soon as I update.
Hey Stephen,

I am sorry that delay of this reply,

I've applied some fix in this file -> JoomlaFolder\libraries\cms\pathway\site.php, it should work fine now.

Is this ever going to be solved another way? I am still applying this patch to new sites because the problem continues on any site I have built that has categories and breadcrumbs.
This is a system file hack and so creates me issues on any system updates which potentially could overnight this change?

Hey Stephen,

If you update to the latest version of EasyBlog, this issue should already be resolved. Can you please confirm that the latest version works without patching the file Arlex provided above?
