I have an unusual problem. I have an existing forum site with about a thousand users who tend to be kind of old school. They prefer more classic style forums so I continue to use Kunena.

i would like to add the Easysocial "Wall" to cater to the more Facebook oriented crowds, but would prefer to keep the simpler sign up screens and profile pages we currently use. Alternatively, I could see a move to the Easysocial profiles if there were a profile migration tool.

Until someone builds a more classic forum interface to Easydiscuss, I will continue to use Kunena, as that is what my users want.

As I am writing this, I see it is starting to ramble. I know there are several questions here, none of which have easy solutions. However, any thoughts you or other members may have would be welcomed. Please note I am not a programmer, so whipping up what I am looking for myself is a bit outside of the realm of current probability
Hello Gary,

We will be working on a couple of new layouts for EasyDiscuss and this could probably win your users back but let's get back to your original issue here. I am afraid there is no way around this because EasySocial's base functionality compromises of the following:

1. Registration
2. Profile
3. Stream
4. Friendship
5. Conversations [This however can be turned off]

Given that, is there a way, when importing users from an existing membership, to import all of their Kunena profile information? Especially the avatar?

I like a lot of what Easysocial can and does do, i will still be pursuing this. I think it is a way to really add some more features to the site that I want, but don't want to turn off my older users, who happen to be some of our best technical folks on the forum topics.

Thanks and I will be watching for the new templates on EasyDiscuss. There is a lot to like there if I can ease the transition!

Hello Gary,

Unfortunately right now it's not possible to migrate items from Kunena over to EasySocial We might consider adding this in the future though.
