I have an issue with my EasyBlog URL routing.

I have a Single Category View (URL in site details) which is http://www.mysite.com/stuff.

I want blogs in that category to have URL's like http://www.mysite.com/stuff/somenews

but instead they are being created as...

http://www.mysite.com/publish/somenews where 'publish' is being pulled from a 'hidden' menu item I've created for my publishers.

I'd love to understand what's causing this behaviour. Thanks.
Hello Andy,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
Thanks for given us the permission, I have checked again, it seems like those blog post is under Sport subcategory, if I created "horseriding" single category from your hidden menu, then it look fine now, check my screenshot below.

because before i try this, I try to search which blog post is under this main category (Sport), then i noticed that is show correctly the URL as you mentioned. Check my last screenshot.

To fix this, you have to create all the single category menu item for your subcategory.

hello Andy,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I have take a look in your menu structure, it seems like your blog menu item is under alias menu type right?
Is it for point it to sport single category page? If yes, what my suggestion is can you try create a hidden menu item for Easyblog frontpage layout, then remove the blog alias temporary and see how it goes?
If still can't, can i have the permission help you configure and see how? Please advise.

Hi Arlex... I'm still having trouble getting this to work. So sure if you are able, you have permission to experiment with my menu structures.

I got rid of the alias in case that was causing the issue.... so the MAIN MENU entry called "BLOG" is actually directly the SINGLE CATEGORY VIEW now.

I created a FRONTPAGE LAYOUT menu item as you suggested in my hidden 'MISCELLANEOUS' menu and called it BLOGHOME....

But now if you go to my Blog page via the website main menu bar, the URL's are still picking up the wrong thing and including BLOGHOME in them.

I want the single category view to dominate so instead of http://www.mysite.com/bloghome/theblogentry, I'm trying to get http://www.mysite.com/sports/theblogentry

Any ideas?!

Thanks Arlex.... OK that's great for the sub-categories then... and most of my blogs are in sub-categories.

Still seems a bit odd for any blog going in at the root level (ie just Sports)... but I can live with that.

Would you mind removing the images on your post above now this is largely resolved. They were helpful to guide me but now I understand I'd prefer them removed as they include some personal names.

Thanks again.
