Hello, just had site hosted but am getting error message "Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet".

This message appears whenever a new user tries to sign up, yet the account gets created and user unable to login using created username and password.

I recently updated my Joomla software to 3.2.0 and do not know if this might be the reason as there have been reported breaks in links between extensions and joomal.

Please assist
About the new users not being about to sign up or log in, i tried this and it seems to work just fine now.

extensions--- plugin manager---User joomla--- then changed strong password to no and saved----then changed back to yes and saved.

New users seem to be able to sign up and subsequently login with the requirement of a password reset.

Also, do same with the , Plugin Manager: Smart Search - Newsfeeds, disable and save, then enable and save.

The alerts are all coming back to life, problem half solved. However, notifications (messages, friend request) are still not working. You would need to refresh page to get updates.

my site seems to be coming back to life.

Cheers!

Confirmed - I have the same problem with Joomla 3.2 and ES v1.0.9. I have ES set to auto login. Here's what I'm seeing:

1) New users are not logged in after registration
2) Their accounts show as being 'enabled' and 'activated' in ES's backend
3) When trying to login a new user then gets "Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet."

Is this a Joomla or ES problem?

Hello John,

I'm getting the exact same issues however plus

(1) E-mail notification for all users prior to the upgrade function fine, however, all subsequent new users do not get any email notification at all.

(2) The more general issue for all users (existing and new) is that all alerts and polling for feeds and messages do not work any more. To get notifications, users have to keep refreshing their pages.

I'm not certain why this is but one thing is certain, it does render my site crippled.

I had the email notification problem too. Here's the solution - go to Joomla's General Config area. Set "Send mail" to 'no" & SAVE. Then set to "Yes" and RESAVE. Problem solved.

Lets hope the stack team can help out with the rest.

My understanding is that this is a Joomla 3.2 problem. If you can believe it, they released a 'stable' version where the login/registration was broken. I'm going to revert back to 3.15 for the moment. I will never, ever, ever again upgrade Joomla core until at least 30 days of testing has gone by. It's just too risky to end up with a dead site.

Please share you findings on this. Is this a known issue with Joomla 3.2?

There have been a few representations in the joomla forum of similar issues so I'm inclined to agree with JW. It sure has hindered the effective functioning of my site.

That said, any suggestions of a good mobile app builder which supports push content that I could use to build the mobile version of my website?

Cheers!

You may also try checking the Joomla versus EasySocial required password length. If the former is longer, registration and activation in ES still work but attempts to login will result in the same error.

There should be a KB for this on the StackIdeas site to inform everyone.

Hey guys,

Just an update, Joomla just released 3.2.1 RC 1. Perhaps you might want to try them?
