Upload file field problem

Hi,

as I'm delving into the administration section I'm discovering a few issues which I could use some help with!!


I've added a custom field 'Upload File' to the events category 'family fun / kids' but when I try and save or update an event, the file doesn't upload and it just returns the main events screen completely blank!



I did a search over the weekend and it returned loads (about 70) past events. It would be great if search didn't do this as it really doesn't serve any purpose. However, I went into admin and deleted all these past events. The search still returned them! I ended up going into the data base and deleting them from there! I assume that deleting an event in admin should delete them from the database as well???

Hi Paul... I had this issue too... our StackIdeas SuperHeroes fixed it on my site and I see it's been added as a fix in 1.4.3 just released.... so if you upgrade you should find this one is resolved...

Is it the past event/database issue, or the file upload field that was ficed?

Hey Paul,

Did you try upload file in the event after you updated to 1.4.3?

Because I just tried in your site, it seems work fine.

Regarding with your past event/database issue, can you try purge all the data from backend > Component > smart search > click purge > then click re-index button , then try search again in your frontend and see is it still getting deleted event result?

Could you tell me what the purpose of the field's max height and width? Should it display a thumbnail of the file....or is this just for image uploads, rather than docs like pdf?

regarding smart search...this component was new to me!! I can't see the re-index button though...does this only appear after I've purged? Don't want to purge and lost everything!!!!

Yes, that options is just for image preview max height and width.
After you complete your event creation, it will display on your event detail page.

It won't lost your data after you purge, because when you can re-index again.
Ahh, I am sorry for that, it should be call `Index` button, you can take a look of my screenshot below.
