I tried to upgrade from ES 1.4.2 to ES 1.4.3 from the admin area via the network and also by downloading the full package and installing via extension manager but both attempts failed, sticking at the 'downloading files' part of the process.

Would you check and see what the problem is?
Hey Richard,

I've tried to update Easysocial in your site, but I hitting this "Gateway time-out" issue, the problem is actually because the "file copying" takes time and because your server is extremely slow in copying the files, it actually failed. The best way to fix this is to ask your hosting provider to look at the speed of file copying on the server. At the rate at the file is being copied, it's going to take a while.

Hello Arlex,

SiteGround need to recreate the problem but the EasySocial Admin screen is not showing the upgrade option, only the grey circle going round and round with a "checking for version information" message. The rest of the admin screen is not loading properly.

I assume the previous attempt to upgrade has not closed down properly, can you shut it down from your side to allow SiteGround to run the upgrade and identify the problem?

Same issue. Cannot update to 1.4.3. Progress bar is not moving at all. Not even with full package installation is possible.

Hi Richard,

Can you try to use launcher installer instead and install it via extension manager and see how it goes? You can download the installer from stackideas dashboard here, http://stackideas.com/dashboard .

Hort & Robert,
Can you start a new thread and provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you guys with the installation?

I decided to try uploading the full package again before uploading just the launcher and it worked in under 15 seconds (the normal time for any updates on the SiteGround server), everything is fine now.

SiteGround have not changed anything, if you changed something thank you for fixing it, if nobody changed anything I have no idea what the problem was.

There does seem to be an initial speed issue with every upgrade recently, perhaps it is just everyone trying to upgrade at the same time after a new release and overloading your server for a while and the speed returns to normal when the demand drops?

I used the web launcher for the upgrade again and it worked perfectly for me.
Don't know what has been changed in the meantime but yesterday evening our time the progress bar got stuck at 0%.
So upgrade successfully performed! Thanks guys!

Thanks Richard and Horst getting back to us your installation issue resolved.

Hmm, actually we do not have fix anything on our server today, that was strange, we will see if this happen on next release update again.
