Hello,

I have followed the instructions on your documentation for the upgrade from EB 3.9 to EB 5 and the upgrade process blocks at the initialize site files stage. What could be the problem?

Thank you,
Mada
Hey Madalina,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Yes I can.
I inserted them in the Site Details.
I had to stop the installation after three hours of waiting for the upgrade to go beyond 20%.

Hey Madalina,

I have updated EasyBlog for you to the latest version. Can you give this a try again now? By the way, the module JU Content slider seems to be relying on EasyBlog 3.9.x, I have temporarily unpublished the module as it is throwing errors on the site. You should get in touch with the author of the module and get them to update their codes.

Hey Mark,
Thank you so much for the help with the upgrade. I did check and I have to publish the modules so that they appear again but all the posts are there.

The autoupdate discovered a new update today from EasyBlog (to 5.07) and so I clicked the "update now" button...and again it stopped. Is it normal to take some time for the upgrade to perform?..I am just asking so that I can get an idea of the timeframe for each upgrade.

Thank you for the input on the content slider module - I will get in touch with the provider.

Regards,
Madalina

Hey Madalina,

There is a real issue with your hosting provider because file copying is extremely slow. Everytime EasyBlog tries to copy a large number of files from the setup over, it times out

If you want to fix this for good, you need to consult with your hosting provider and get them to troubleshoot this. It always hits Internal Server Error when file is being copied.

Temporarily, a fix that I have performed for you is to manually upload the files
