I don't have an ftp access over WAN due to our current security policy, I plan to troubleshoot later this evening while traffic is minimal. I just need to know if your packaging is healthy and that it works with other servers. We always use the local update.

Yes the update works fine for other users as well. Normally when there are isolated cases, we will check directly on the site and help perform the installation.
