Well not an issue per se - I am a long standing user and advocate of your software. I consult and always demo the blog and discussion products when running my service support and customer engagement workshops. I have a Joomla site running 2.5.6 which I've not looked after for a while. It is running EasyBlog 3.5.12201 and Easy Discuss 2.0.3945 (!) and JomSocial 2.4.1.

Its time to refresh the site and bring things up to date. My questions:

1. Is there an upgrade path for the versions I am on and at what cost?
2. Do you have a Jomsocial migration option?
3. Is there a Joomla version I need to get to first?

Thanks

Ian
Hi Ian,

Here are the answers for you:

1. Is there an upgrade path for the versions I am on and at what cost?
>> Yes, by default you can upgrade by just installing the new version onto the old version, overwriting it. If there are no heavy customizations done on our extensions on your site, it should work smoothly. Of course, we encourage you to backup your site should anything go wrong.

To upgrade, you just need to renew the licenses and you will have another 12-months license that comes with unlimited downloads, professional support and all the new software updates. We are happy to offer you a 10%-ff when you renew in your Dashboard. Just use coupon code RENEWNOW to get the discount instantly when you checkout to make the payment. You have both EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss licenses expired so you can renew both with 10% discount each.

2. Do you have a Jomsocial migration option?
>> Are you meaning to say migrating from JomSocial to EasySocial? IF yes, there is already a built-in migrator to help you move your data over from JomSocial to EasySocial. At this moment, only Groups and Videos will not be moved over but we are working on this in the future releases of EasySocial.

3. Is there a Joomla version I need to get to first?
>> If you are upgrading your site, it is best to at least jump straight to Joomla 3.0. Of course, you need to consider if the existing plugins/components are ready for Joomla 3.0 but as for EasyBlog, EasyDiscuss and EasySocial, they are all Joomla 3.0 compatible. The newer Joomla 3.2 is already available to download and our extensions shall be compatible very soon.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if we could assist you further.

Hi Ian,

There is no bundle yet at the moment. We are actually working out on the merchant side of things to make this Bundle possible. It will be featured in this page http://stackideas.com/bundles later.

The Social bundle is misleading - please clarify the advert on your web page - using the word social and language that implies you can build a community led me to belive ity included EasySocial. I want to renew my EasyBlog and Discussion licenses and migrate from Jomsocial - having said that - it would make sense to have a competitive replacement pricing for this. If you's like to discuss this further by email please do ian at ianmclayton dot com
