HI There, I am running EasyDiscuss 2.0.3945 in my website, now I renew my subscription to update EasyDiscuss, but before I need to know what is the best step to do.

Is there an specific upgrade file I should use, or I can simple install the new version in the top of the older one?

To upgrade your EasyDiscuss, please follow the below steps:

1. Download the new installer file from our site http://stackideas.com/dashboard.

2. Next, go to your server and move the folder ‘attachments’ from JOOMLA/media/com_easydicuss/attachments another location in your server. This is because in earlier version of EasyDiscuss, the uninstallation process will remove all your attachments files in your EasyDiscuss

3. Now, you are ready to uninstall your EasyDiscuss 2.0.x. Go to your Joomla backend extension manager and uninstall your EasyDiscuss 2.0.x. Do not worry, uninstalling your existing EasyDiscuss will not remove your data records from your database.

4. Once you've successfully uninstall EasyDiscuss 2.0.x, you can then reinstall EasyDiscuss 3.2.x via Joomla extension manager

5. Once you’ve successfully re-install EasyDiscuss 3.2.x, now you need to move back the attachment folder back to folder ‘JOOMLA/media/com_easydicuss/‘.

Yup, thats it. Your EasyDiscuss is now upgraded to new version

Anyway, I advise you to do a full backup of your site ( including database ) before you perform upgrades to your EasyDiscuss or any other components so that if anything happen during the upgrade process, you can always revert back your site to original state before the upgrades
