HI There, I am running Easyblog 3.7.13964 in my website, now I renew my subscription to update EasyBlog, but before I need to know what is the best step to do.

Is there an specific upgrade file I should use, or I can simple install the new version in the top of the older one?

To upgrade your EasyBlog, please follow the below steps:

1. Download the new EasyBlog 5.0.x installer file (select the 'download full package' installer ) from our site http://stackideas.com/dashboard.

2. Next, go to your Joomla backend extension manager and uninstall your EasyBlog 3.7.x. Do not worry, uninstalling your existing EasyBlog will not remove your data records from your database.

3. Once you've successfully uninstall your existing EasyBlog, you can then reinstall EasyBlog 5.0.x like how you usually install other 3rd party component

Yup, thats it.

Anyway, I would advise you to do a full backup of your site ( including database ) before you perform upgrades to your EasyBlog to version 5.0.17 so that incase something went wrong during / after the upgrade, you still can revert back your site to it original state before the upgrades
