I have duplicated my website and installed EasyBlog 5 following the upgrade instructions. The upgrade itself seems to be OK but now the existing blog links are bringing up errors.
Hey RussianBlue,

do you mean you hitting sql error on your blog listing page?

Can you provide us with your FTP and PHPMYADMIN access so I can help you check on this?

Hi Arlex,

Unfortunately my hosting company will not allow anyone else access to FTP as they are extremely tight on security (Armor which used to be FireHost). I have given you access to an admin account and going to the newsblog page will show you the error message.

hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

After debugging long time ago, it seems like you added this `Calendar` in this settings -> Exclude categories from frontpage, you can take a look of my screenshot below, then causing this issue is because you should put category id instead of category name -> ( To exclude categories from being listed in the front page, enter a comma separated of category id's. E.g: (1,2,3) )

After I put back id = 8 in that settings, it display correctly now, can you give it a check now?

The error has now gone, thank you.

One of the reasons the site looks so different (EasyBlog wise) seems to be due to old modules being turned off and not being replaced with new ones.

Also where I had a listing of archived blogs, it no longer displays anything. The NewsBlog page should look like the attachment.

Hey RussianBlue,

In EasyBlog 3.9, the archives is not really archives and we have fixed this on EasyBlog 5. In order for you to display the blog post under the "Archives" area, you really need to archive the post. In previous versions, they are actually not "archived" per-se. Every post will appear in the archives section and they are just based on date.

If you want your post to appear on the archives section, you need to archive a blog post

OK, this is starting to make sense. So now that I can't use Archive List view (without actually archiving the posts), how can I get a LIST view of all posts?

Hey RussianBlue,

We don't have a layout that displays items in a list currently. The only way to display items in a list is on the archive layout and you need to archive them

Hello RussianBlue,

Can you provide us your FTP access so we can debug this on your site? Also, I've tried to access your backend but failed.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. While debugging your site, I found out when this settings change to other value instead of Use Joomla List Length, the page loads correctly. Can I have your FTP access so we can further troubleshoot this issue? Please advise.

Morning Nick,

Thank you for taking the time to discover the cause of the error here. Unfortunately my host doesn't allow FTP access without a VPN account (they are ultra secure).

I would very much like to know whereabouts the error is in the backend so that I can correct the live version of this site.

Thanks.
