updating in joomla

Hi I am currently using joomla 2.5 and am trying to update easy blog through the update module. It is telling me i need to update the api number, which i did and saved. then it gives me this message: Starting upgrade process ...

Hello Karen Symington,

It is important to take note that upgrading from major releases from versions 3.8.x or lower to 3.9.x, requires a manual upgrade via the Extension Manager. It is not possible to do this via the Updater. Please be rest assured that the normal upgrade process will not erase your blog posts or settings. Hope this help.

*Notice : Remember backup your customization file before update your latest version of Easyblog.
